Ms. Laura Belloni is Secretary General of the CSA since September 17, 2018.
Prior to this appointment, Ms. Belloni served as Manager of Regulatory Affairs and Policy Manager at the CSA for a period of 10 years. As such, she was responsible for managing regulatory and policy development initiatives and numerous other projects.
Before joining the CSA in 2007, Ms. Belloni was Legal Counsel and Policy Advisor at the AMF, where she provided legal advisory services on various securities law-related matters and conducted extensive research on comparative law matters regarding international securities and regulatory frameworks. Prior to 2002, she practiced business law at Argentina’s largest mergers and acquisitions and full-service firm Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal, where she advised international and local clients on various cross-border business transactions. Ms. Belloni holds a law degree (LL.B.) from the Universidad de La Plata (Argentina) and a Masters in International Law (LL.M.) from the University of Ottawa. She is licensed to practice law in Argentina and Quebec. She is also a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI).
