Suppression of Terrorism/Canada Sanctions

Canada’s legislative measures against terrorist financing, and against financial dealings with certain sanctioned individuals and entities, are contained in various Canadian statutes and regulations. Some of these provisions set out prohibitions and impose compliance and disclosure obligations relating to the financial activities of these individuals and entities. In some cases, registrants, exempt dealers and exempt advisers are required to file monthly Suppression of Terrorism and Canadian Sanction reports.

To assist registrants, exempt dealers and exempt advisers, the CSA has created a CSA Guide to Monthly Suppression of Terrorism and Canadian Sanctions Reporting (the STCS Guide). The STCS Guide includes guidance as to which federal provisions require monthly reporting, and an overview of certain duties arising under these federal provisions.
